Sierra Gold Chorus Mission Statement

To provide an opportunity for women to learn and improve musical skills and share the love of 4-part harmony a cappella singing, with a wide variety of audiences through energetic and entertaining performances.

The main purpose of Sierra Gold Chorus is to sing and perform for the community. We sing at annual shows, a number of community events throughout the CaliforniaFoothills, and at annual competitions.  We are available to sing at your next function or event. If you're looking for a unique musical experience to liven up your event, please check out our Hire Us section.

Performance Education

In addition to sharing our music with others, another great passion of ours is learning more about the art of a cappella singing. Vocal instruction is a regular part of chorus rehearsals, and a very important component of the chorus experience. A couple of times a year, we will get coaching from a visiting master in the art of a cappella, singing, where we learn many fabulous tricks of the trade.

In the spring of every year,Sierra Gold Chorus participates in the Sweet Adelines Region 12 chorus competition in Reno, NV. Competitions are a special time for quartets and choruses from our region to come together to sing for each other, and get some constructive feedback from a panel of judges. The winners of the regional competition in both quartet and chorus categories get to travel to International Competition, which is held in the fall in a city selected each year.

Sierra Gold Chorus members reside throughout the Sierra Foothills of California. Our singers come from the communities of Auburn, Placerville, Grass Valley, Rocklin, Folsom, Sacramento, Pollock Pines, Loomis, Nevada City, and even Reno, Nevada! We welcome all women singers who want to learn and grow as singers.

Sierra Gold Chorusis a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, a non-profit organization of approximately 30,000 members in choruses and quartets, worldwide.
